The Keepers

Now playing Guitar with my Dad in eclectic ‘60 music ensemble:

The Keepers

They don’t seem to be a bit concerned that I wasn’t even alive back then. I guess that means I’m starting to get old. :)

Practice Room

This application has been sitting around on my hard drive collecting dust for over a year. It’s an iTunes like program for helping musicians learn songs. In addition to allowing you to organize music into lists, you can also change the speed and pitch of the songs as well as target and remove specific instruments from the stereo mix.

Practice Room Features:

  • Organize Music into ’songlists’.
  • Change the pitch of music.
  • Change the speed of music.
  • Remove selected instruments from the stereo mix.
  • 31 Band graphic equalizer with preset for removing/isolating bass.
  • Button for allowing you to play along with the music. (The selected audio input device from System Preferences is mixed in with the currently playing song)
  • Ability to repeat a song or entire song list.

I had originally planned on adding more features (like looping) and releasing it as a commercial (non-free) program, but I just don’t have the time right now to do that. Someday I might actually get around to that, but in the mean time I’m going to let people play around with this pre-alpha version for free.

WARNING: This program has no expressed or implied warranty of any kind. Redistributing, modifying or selling this program without consent of the program author (me) is forbidden.

I’ve posted some more photos of Dylan and created a ‘photos’ section on the site that links to his pictures.

Dylan

No this post isn’t about Bob Dylan. And it isn’t about Dylan Thomas either. It’s about Dylan Scott Flynt who was born today at 12:08 PM.

I’m Only 1% Stupid!
Floored…

My friend Aaron Trubic has been playing bass with a guitar player named Sean Costello. I was poking around YouTube a few nights ago and stumbled on some videos of them playing. I just have to say that I’m floored. I’ve always been a fan of Aaron’s bass playing, but hadn’t really heard Sean play before.

Anyway… I’m pretty freaking impressed. Just go to youtube.com and search for “Sean Costello.”

Color Changing Post

I use RSS newsreader software called NetNewsWire. The program is always open on my computer, and I probably spend about an hour a day using it to read news articles from all over the internet. The program has a list of the websites that I’ve set up news subscriptions for on the left hand side. One of the sites in my subscription list is (not so coincidentally) aaronflynt.com. Unfortunately, the program has a feature that turns the name of the website a very ugly shade of brown if the news site hasn’t been updated in awhile.

Well… To make a long story less long, my website is brown, it’s annoying me, and I’m writing this post for the sole purpose of changing it’s color in the list. :)
